DESCRIPTION:Europe’s ambition is to become a leader in cybersecurity. In her State of the Union speech, European Commission’s President Ursula von Der Leyen insisted on the fact that “If everything is connected, everything can be hacked. Given that resources are scarce, we have to bundle our forces.” This event will seek to take stock of EU’s cybersecurity strategy presented in December 2020, including the progress made on the adoption of the NIS2 Directive. The discussion will then address Europe’s ambition in cybersecurity, planned legislative initiatives for the upcoming years, such as the newly announced Cyber Resilience Act, and remaining challenges to becoming a world leader. Panelists will be invited to their share their views on potential opportunities as well as identify possible gaps and future threats that need to be addressed.
