Transatlantic technology diplomacy and collaboration will help ensure resilience across our societies, economies and healthcare systems. This past year has highlighted how interconnected we are, and emphasized the importance to step up efforts to address technological evolutions such as critical infrastructure like 5G, data governance, privacy, responsibility of online platforms; environmental transition; and global developments such as the WTO governance and cooperation within standard-setting organisations. The EU will see open strategic autonomy strengthened by the partnership with the new US administration, which should lead to new areas of cooperation and lively discussions when it comes to boosting digital agendas.
