ABOUT

Rasha is the head of Business Support and Entrepreneurship at the Technology Innovation and entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), ITIDA. Rasha has built extensive networks and assets in the global entrepreneurial marketplace. An entrepreneur herself is currently on board her company; AGTA packaging. Prior to her position in government, Rasha worked in the construction management as the regional manager of HartMannEgypt. Rasha joined TIEC at its inception, heading the Entrepreneurship department and developing policies for tech-startups such as the Accelerator program, and the Venture Studio. Rasha was part of the team that compiled the ICT2020 strategy for Egypt, and the team that launched the first innovation portal for Egypt in Arabic, egyptinnovate.com. Rasha runs uniquely designed policy hacking workshops where innovative policy solutions to entrepreneurship problems may be developed. Her design has won first place globally in 2017 at the Global Entrepreneurship Network.

Rasha participates in local and international conferences as a speaker and trainer at various leading universities on entrepreneurship, developing entrepreneurial environments, innovation policy, and role of government. She works closely with international entities like the EIB, ALECSA, ANIMA, ESCWA, the UNDP and the CMI on entrepreneurship and innovation projects for the MENA and the EuroMED region. Rasha has worked with and consulted with various European commission projects as part of FP7 and H2020. Her consultancy work includes developing the MENA innovation index, developing KPIs for Technology Parks and developing innovation diagnostic tools for SMEs in these regions and entrepreneurship policy design

Rasha loves to help other entrepreneurs, women and youth reach for the stars, regularly mentoring them. Rasha holds a Masters in Civil Engineering from Alexandria University, a Masters in Management of Technology from Nile University and a DBA in youth entrepreneurship in developing countries from the University of Switzerland.
