Please find below the list of candidates (in A-Z order) for the vacant Associate member seat at the EIF Board. A short bio and motivation are available for each candidate.

    • Anna Zardo - IFPI

      AZardo assoc boardAnna Zardo serves as the Head of EU Parliament and Government Affairs at IFPI's European Office in Brussels, where she plays a pivotal role in cultivating and maintaining constructive relationships with EU policymakers at all levels.

      Anna provides political strategic advice and support to IFPI members in the complex EU regulatory landscape. As part of her activities, she develops and coordinates outreach strategies, collaborating closely with various stakeholders, European and national industry groups, to ensure coordinated actions at EU level.

      Anna joined IFPI in 2018 after working for six (6) years as a Coordinator for Inter-Institutional relations at the European Commission (DG CONNECT), where she was also member of the Director General's advisory team. At the European Commission, Anna coordinated the negotiations of relevant digital policy files (telecom, platforms regulation, copyright) throughout the decision-making process, facilitating communication with the European Parliament and the Council of the EU. Prior to that, Anna worked in law firms and gained valuable experience as an MEP advisor in the European Parliament.

      MOTIVATION

      With over a decade of my experience in EU policymaking and inter-institutional negotiations coupled with a recent focus on the music sector, I am confident that my expertise and dedication align with EIF's objectives.

      Digital policies and EU affairs have always been the leitmotif of my professional life.

      Over the course of my career, I have actively engaged with EU co-legislators, particularly with the European Parliament, contributing to groundbreaking EU legislation in the digital field, as well as collaborated with variety of EU and national stakeholders. This experience helped me improve my ability to navigate among the diverse interests and establish a robust network in Brussels.

      Having witnessed the invaluable contribution of the EIF to its members, I believe in its role as a unique platform to address key digital challenges in the EU.

      As a regular participant in the EIF activities, I would be honoured to enhance my involvement in the organization by becoming a member of the Board.

      My contribution would be to bring a "digital" creative industry perspective, strengthening the connection between the content sectors and digital innovation. Furthermore, my first-hand knowledge of the EU political landscape would enable me to contribute to the growth and success of the Forum' mission.

    • Alexandre Roure - CCIA

      ARoure assoc boardAlexandre Roure serves as Head of Policy and Deputy Head of Office at the Brussels office of the Computer & Communications Industry Association. With more than 10 years of experience in EU tech policy, he oversees CCIA’s advocacy across a wide range of tech policy fields of relevance for tech companies, their partners, suppliers, and customers across the EU. His role extends to directing CCIA’s advocacy on industrial and trade policies. Prior to joining CCIA in 2017, Alex worked at the Brussels office of BSA | The Software Alliance, where he focused on data protection, cybersecurity, surveillance, and data flows. He also worked at LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton and a leading EU consulting firm. He holds a LL.M. in EU and human rights law from the University of Essex (UK), and a French LL.B. (“Licence Droit Général”) from the Université du Sud-Toulon-Var.

      MOTIVATION

      I am expressing my interest in joining the EIF Board for the 2024-2027 term. I am eager to contribute to EIF's role as a platform for exchange and collaboration with new and returning MEPs, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.

      As a board member, I would work to ensure that the EIF provides fair and balanced representation of interests. The EIF structure is so impactful, working with many sectors and partners. I am committed to ensuring that the EIF remains an open, trusted and dynamic platform for all interests and opinions to be expressed. With 7 years of experience on Europe’s key tech legislation at CCIA, I am used to balancing different models and interests to create consensus within and outside the association’s membership.

      Given the rapid pace of tech innovation, the next three years will be crucial for the new EU legislature to set the tone and build out digital policies in response to emerging opportunities and challenges. This is where the EIF can play an important role in attracting new MEPs and shaping sensible policy discussions to ensure that the EU is an attractive place for companies to invest, build, and grow.

    • Guido Lobrano - ITI

      GLobrano assoc boardGuido Lobrano is Director General for Europe & Senior Vice President at ITI – the global association of the tech industry. Guido is based in Brussels, where he opened ITI’s first office in Europe.

      Since 2017, he leads ITI’s activities in the European Union, and coordinates the work of a global team of experts on the EU’s international tech and trade policy. Since 2023, Guido is also a Member of the Board of the European Society of Association Executives (ESAE), the leading organisation for Association Leaders, and he also co-chairs ESAE’s Advocacy Community.

      Previously, Guido worked at BusinessEurope, the confederation of European industry, where during ten years he was in charge of digital policy, and led the coordination of BusinessEurope’s Legal Affairs and Internal Market teams.

      Throughout his career, Guido engaged in many crucial policy debates from a cross-industry perspective, including the 2008-2009 Telecoms Review, key developments in competition policy, the adoption of the GDPR and discussions on international data flows. Most recently, he was involved in key initiatives on AI, cybersecurity, data governance and tech & sustainability among others.

      Guido is a lawyer by background, and began his professional career working in law firms in the US (New York), Brussels, Strasbourg as well as Italy, his home country.

      MOTIVATION

      I deeply appreciate the EIF’s mission to support the work of policymakers engaged in digital policy. The organisation’s secretariat and its leadership are doing an excellent job in creating opportunities for dialogue and exchange on key tech policy discussions. I’d be eager to support the work of the Board and contribute with the perspective of the Associate Members of EIF, both with regard to the Board’s exclusive competences as well as its involvement in the Steering Committee.

    • Lasse Hamilton - DIGITALEUROPE

      LHamilton assoc boardAt DIGITALEUROPE, Lasse Hamilton is the Senior Director for Outreach. As part of his responsibilities, he manages and directs our work with our 43 European national member associations – representing more than 55.000 companies in Europe. He also manages the international activities of DIGITALEUROPE outside the EU - both bilaterally (for example with US, UK, Japan, Korea and Canada) as well at the multilateral activities (for example with G7, WTO, OECD and more).

      Before joining DIGITALEUROPE, Lasse was in different positions (the latest being Senior Director for EU and International Affairs) at the Danish Chamber of Commerce for eight years, where he worked on a broad range of issues, including the digital area, internal market, competitiveness, competition- and industrial policy. Before that, he worked for the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority, The Danish Ministry for Business and the European Commission, as well as at a management consulting firm in London.

      He furthermore previously been appointed to the European Commissions Fit-4-Future platform, been the Chairman of the Committee on Internal Market, Consumer and Digital Policy in Eurocommerce, as well as other formal and informal roles and academic guest lecture engagements. He has lived and worked in Bruxelles

      MOTIVATION

      DIGITALEUROPE is inclusive and represents the whole digital ecosystem (some 55.000 companies), from the biggest tech players to the next big European digital companies. We also increasingly represent the digitalising industries – including healthcare, mobility, manufacturing, banking, defense etc. The digital conversation is much wider now, and we would reflect that in the board role.

      As a main voice in Bruxelles and globally DIGITALEUROPE for digitally transforming industries in Europe, we represent a broad cross section of industry across the entire tech ecosystem, including major digitalizing industry players such a banks, defense companies, car manufacturers, pharmaceutical and medtech companies – from large to small. We strive to make Europe a Digital Powerhouse where innovation-friendly regulation and a unified single market empower European businesses to lead the global tech race, ensuring a secure, sustainable, and inclusive digital future for every citizen.

      I believe that my deep knowledge of European policy as well as international affairs in the technology field combined with DIGITALEUROPE’s internal ressources as well as extensive network of members and partners across Europe and the world - would be a valuable asset to the board of EIF.
