This EIF breakfast will provide participants with a briefing and an exchange of views ahead of the fifth annual Internet Governance Forum which will take place in Vilnius from 14 to 17 September.

The key themes to be addressed in Vilnius include: managing critical internet resources; security, openness and privacy; access and diversity; Internet governance for development (IG4D); emerging issues such as cloud computing; and internet governance issues.

The EIF discussion will focus on the key policy priorities and expectations for this upcoming IGF. It will also address the issues surrounding a multilingual Internet, which will be the topic of the European Parliament Workshop in Vilnius, under the theme of “Access and Diversity”.
