ABOUT

Vincent Berrutto is the Head of Unit responsible for competitiveness, digitalisation, research, and innovation at the European Commission Directorate General for Energy. His Unit supports the development of innovative clean energy technologies, unlocks the potential of digital solutions in the energy sector, monitors and fosters the competitiveness of the net-zero technology industry, with the long-term goal to decarbonise Europe by 2050. 

Prior to this, he was heading the Unit in charge of energy efficiency at the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-size Enterprises. He also dealt earlier with clean energy issues in other services of the European Commission, as well as in the French government. He is an engineer from the French Graduate School of Civil, Environmental, and Urban Engineering, and holds a PhD in building science from the University of Savoie.
