ABOUT

Dr. Meltzer is a fellow in Global Economy and Development at the Brookings Institution and an adjunct professor at the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies. He works on international trade law and policy issues at the World Trade Organization and under free trade agreements. He focuses on the significance of the Internet and cross-border data flows for international trade and how climate change action can affect international trade. Dr. Meltzer is a World Bank consultant on trade and privacy issues. Prior to joining Brookings, Meltzer was a diplomat at the Australian Embassy in Washington D.C where he was responsible for trade, climate and energy issues and prior to that he was a trade negotiator in Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Meltzer holds an S.J.D. and LL.M. from the University of Michigan Law School in Anne Arbor and law and commerce degrees from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
