ABOUT

Marco Düerkop works in the Directorate General for Trade of the European Commission in Brussels. He is currently Deputy Head of unit in services and the TTIP lead negotiator in services. In his former positions in the Commission he was Deputy Head of unit in the Market access unit, assistant to the Deputy Director General and worked in the Trade Defence Instruments directorate of the Directorate General for Trade.

Before joining the Commission in 2001, he worked in the German Foreign Office and was posted at the German Embassy in Athens as head of the Consular, Legal, and Protocol Department. He studied law at the University of Bayreuth and holds an LL.M. from the College of Europe in Bruges.
