Hubertus von Roenne is a long-time business professional in the Global Telecoms & Internet Industries. From 2000 to 2006, he led major international transactions for AOL Europe. He joined BT in 2006 to run the strategic deal management team in Germany. In 2011 he was part of the team setting up BT’s vertical strategy and practices and subsequently led first BT’s Global Logistics Sector and then the Global Manufacturing Vertical. Since April 2014 he is Vice-President for BT’s Global Industry Practice and responsible for all of BT’s global industry (vertical) related activities. 

In the early part of his international career, Hubertus was an international lawyer advising telecoms and internet companies mainly on market entry matters. He was also involved in the rapid growth of the internet platform "First Tuesday", for which he was managing director in Germany in 2000.

Hubertus studied law and philosophy in Heidelberg, New York and Berlin and was awarded a doctorate from Humboldt-University Berlin. Since February 2015 he is chairman of the board of ECTA. In this role, he represents the European telecoms industry in Brussels, including meetings with European Commissioners and the European Parliament.
