ABOUT

Andrea Rigoni has been working in the Internet and Information Security sector for more than 20 years. Andrea is Director General of the “Global Cyber Security Center” GCSEC, a no-profit Foundation based in Rome entirely focused on Cyber Security (International Policy & Cooperation, Education and Research). Andrea serves also as Director of eCommerce and eIdentity in Poste Italiane and is also advisor to many governments and international organizations including ITU, ICANN, ISACA. He is a subject matter expert on Digital Business, Internet and Cyber Security. He is member of different expert groups, including the ISO subcommittee on Information Security.

Between 2009 and 2010, Andrea worked at Booz & Company as Senior Associate in Booz & Company to provide independent consultancy to National Governments, European Institutions and European Critical Infrastructures on Cyber Security. In his role, he has been responsible of three EU Funded Projects for the Protection of the European Critical Infrastructures, in particular in the area of Shared Situational Awareness, where he is working with other Governments (US, UK, the Netherlands, Sweden) to define international standards. 

From 2003 to 2008 he worked for Symantec as responsible of European Commission and Critical Infrastructure Protection. He began his activity in 1992 as an IT consultant to OFM, an NGO represented at the United Nations, working in Italy and US. In 1995 he started a company that has been among the firsts to develop the concept of Security as a Service. In 2000 he entered Getronics where he became responsible of the Security Business Development and later responsible of the Mission Critical Organization. He led many large Security Projects, both for Government and for Private Companies.
