Vittorio Colao is a Senior Advisor of Growth Equity investor General Atlantic, the Chair of the Compensation Committee of Unilever PLC/NV, and a Non-Executive Director of Verizon Communications in the US.

Vittorio has been the CEO of Vodafone Group from 2008 to 2018. He has worked at Vodafone and predecessor companies since 1996 and has been also the Group CEO of RCS MediaGroup in Italy between 2004 and 2006. He served as Vice-Chairman of the European Roundtable of Industrialists until 2018. Vittorio started his career at McKinsey, where he was made a partner in 1995. He served as NED on the Boards of Finmeccanica (Leonardo) and RAS (Allianz Italy).

He is today a trustee and executive board member of Bocconi University in Milan, an advisor of the Oxford Martin School in the UK and he chairs since 2008 the advisory Board of Cometa (charity dedicated to children) in Como, Italy. He serves as an Advisor to the new MedTech degree of Humanitas-Politecnico in Milan.

In 2014 Vittorio was awarded Italy’s Knighthood for professional merits. He has also been appointed He4She Impact champion (UN, 2015), won the GSMA award for Refugees support (2017), and recognized FT HERoes champion (2017) and Stonewall LGBT+ Global Senior Champion (2018).

Trained as a Carabinieri Officer at the Mountain Troops Military School in Italy, Vittorio is an avid cyclist and a semi-retired windsurfer.
