ABOUT

Ms Maciel has vast experience in Internet-governance-related projects, notably in the fields of digital economy, e-commerce, and cybersecurity. She has been involved in several research and capacity building initiatives on digital trade issues. She also worked as a lead researcher on e-commerce under the Trade and Investment Advocacy Fund (TAF2+), a project implemented by IISD, in consortium with CUTS, BKP Economic Advisors, and InterAnalysis. She is a PhD candidate at the University of Bordeaux Montaigne, focusing on the securitization of trade policy. Prior to joining Diplo, Ms Marília Maciel was a researcher and coordinator of the Center for Technology and Society of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (CTS/FGV) in Rio de Janeiro. She served as a councillor at ICANN´s Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO).
