Today’s Nokia consists of Networks (formerly Nokia Siemens Networks), HERE (location intelligence), and Technologies (Innovation and patent/technology licensing).
As Networks, Nokia continues to be an innovation powerhouse with a clear focus on the mobile broadband market, investing in the innovative products and services needed by telecoms operators to manage the increase in wireless data traffic, which is more than doubling every year. HERE, Nokia’s location intelligence business is the leading global provider of map content, powering four out of five in-car navigation systems in US/Europe. Its location platform is used by leading internet companies.
Nokia Technologies consists of hundreds of world-class scientists and engineers in areas that include low-power connected smart multi-sensor systems, distributed sensing, and intelligent interplay between various types of radio technologies. It will invest in further developing our industry-leading innovation portfolio and will 1) expand Nokia’s successful IP licensing program; 2) help other companies and organizations benefit from its breakthrough innovations through technology licensing; and 3) explore new technologies for use in products and services, such as the recently launched Nokia N1 tablet and the Z launcher.
