The twelfth annual meeting of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) was held in Geneva, from 18 to 21 December 2017, on the theme 'Shape Your Digital Future!’.

The European Internet Forum attended the event and supported the European Parliament delegation. The MEP delegation was led by Michal Boni (EPP, PL) and included Jan Philipp Albrecht (GREENS, DE), Cristian Busoi (EPP, RU), Eva Kaili (S&D, GR), Barbara Kappel (ENF, AT), Marisa Matias (GUE, PT) and Tiemo Woelken (S&D, DE). The delegation exchanged views with a variety of stakeholders, such as the Youth Forum, the Internet pioneer Vint Cerf, ICANN’s CEO, the U.S. delegation, national government’s officials, and civil society organisations working on a broad range of digital policy issues. MEPs also had the opportunity to visit CERN, one of the world's largest and most respected centres for scientific research.
