Cloud as a technology continues to be front and centre in Europe's pursuit for strengthening its technological sovereignty. The EU is attempting to strike the right balance between meeting European businesses' legitimate privacy and security imperatives when moving to the cloud whilst ensuring that they retain access to the best cloud technologies available in the market. This debate takes stock of the regulatory trends on cloud at EU and national level. How are EU policymakers addressing removing obstacles to the uptake of cloud services? The panel will also explore the potential impact of EU policies on the business models of globally operating cloud service providers and how they are adapting to the cloud sovereignty landscape in the EU.
