Back to events

The background to this event can be traced back to an EP Resolution adopted in 2021, which triggered two years later (in 2023) a Recommendation by the European Commission (EC Recommendation 2023/2018) "on combating online piracy of sports and other live events". This recommendation included a rendez-vous clause set in November 2025 for the EC to outline its intentions on how to pursue its regulatory work and efforts on the issue of live online piracy of cultural and sports events. The organisation of this discussion is therefore very timely.

Invited speakers are expected to discuss the issue from various specialist perspectives and we will also look forward to welcoming the European Commission to address the EIF on the topic at hand.
